Road repairs to the Rakhmanovskiye Klyuchi resort in East Kazakhstan region are accompanied by conflicts with vacationers, reports the website infohub.kz.
KazAvtoZhol reported that construction is underway on the road to one of Kazakhstan’s main tourist gems, Rakhmanovskiye Klyuchi, in East Kazakhstan. The work is taking place on a section of the highway Ust-Kamenogorsk – Altai – Ulken Naryn – Katon-Karagay – Rakhmanovskiye Klyuchi.
“To ensure the safety of road workers and traffic participants during asphalt concrete laying, a temporary traffic restriction is in effect from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Additionally, due to the peak tourist season and numerous public requests, an extra vehicle passage window is organized daily from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. The restrictions are imposed specifically because of intensive roadwork and the need to ensure safety on the narrow mountain section,” the company warned.
However, according to KazAvtoZhol, there has been an increase in aggressive behavior by some vacationers at the work site in recent days. Incidents of insults, threats, interference with road machinery, and physical assault on traffic safety personnel have been recorded.
“Such actions are unacceptable. The people working on this site every day are doing their jobs in difficult conditions so that tomorrow thousands of tourists can travel safely and comfortably to Rakhmanovskiye Klyuchi. It is important to understand that every delay caused by conflicts, blocking of machinery, or non-compliance with the temporary traffic schedule directly affects the completion timeline of the repairs. In other words, the more obstacles created for the road services, the longer the temporary restrictions will remain,” the company explained.
Residents and visitors to the region were warned that the use of violence, threats, insults, and obstruction of lawful activities of workers and road construction works will result in liability under the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
