Ukraine is allocating an average of $266 million a day to military needs in 2026, and that figure could rise in 2027, infohub.kz reports.

According to data from Ukraine's Ministry of Finance, the country's budget will earmark a total of 4.37 trillion hryvnias for the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 2026 — the equivalent of $97.1 billion. The sum covers service members' salaries, the purchase of weapons and equipment, reserve funds for unforeseen expenses, and other costs. That means one day of the conflict costs the Ukrainian budget an average of $266 million in 2026.

The financial burden on Ukraine's budget is expected to keep growing in 2027. The draft law provides for an increase in military spending to $108.6 billion, meaning the cost of one day of the conflict for Ukraine would rise to $297.5 million.

"However, this figure reflects only Ukraine's direct budget expenditures. It does not include the cost of Western weapons the country receives from its sponsors. As a result, estimates of the conflict's total cost can vary widely. In May, for instance, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said one day of actual hostilities costs the country roughly $450 million," the publication says.
