Ukraine's Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko has announced his resignation, submitting a formal request. He commented on the decision in his Telegram channel, as reported by infohub.kz.
Kravchenko called his decision political and deliberate, stressing that he does not want the position of Prosecutor General to be used as a tool for political confrontation. He also stated that his stance on the accusations remains unchanged.
He expressed gratitude to the President and the Verkhovna Rada and asked them to accept his resignation. In his address, he also thanked colleagues who honestly perform their duties, represent the prosecution in courts, work with victims, document Russian crimes, and defend state interests, emphasizing that their work should not be devalued.
According to DW, the statement was made amid a corruption scandal following searches in a case involving fraudulent call centers. Local media reported that on September 7, Volodymyr Zelensky met with Kravchenko and the head of the Servant of the People faction, David Arakhamia, to discuss the prospects of Ruslan Kravchenko remaining in office.
