Nearly 30 social and infrastructure facilities have begun modernization in the Ulytau Region with support from the government, on the instructions of President Qasym-Jomart Toqaev, the website infohub.kz reports.
On October 28, President of Kazakhstan Qasym-Jomart Toqaev delivered his address to the nation, titled "Current Tasks for Kazakhstan in a New Historical Cycle." Yesset Baiken, akim of the Ulytau Region, held a meeting to discuss the tasks outlined in the head of state's address.
According to the Ulytau regional akimat, the main theme of the address was the country's development and improving citizens' quality of life. The president emphasized the importance of modernizing infrastructure, building social facilities, improving housing and utilities, and creating a comfortable urban environment. Special attention was also given to regional development and support for domestic business.
These tasks are particularly significant for the Ulytau Region. Consistent work lies ahead on developing infrastructure, improving the accessibility and quality of social services, and creating favorable conditions for residents and businesses.
In line with this, and in accordance with the instructions of head of state Qasym-Jomart Kemelevich Toqaev and with government support, modernization of nearly 30 social and infrastructure facilities has begun in the region. This will improve the region's engineering systems, boost the infrastructure potential of its settlements, and create a solid foundation for further development.
Transport infrastructure plays an important role in the region's development. On the instructions of the head of state, the joint-stock company Samruk-Kazyna has modernized four railway stations in the region — in the cities of Zhezkazgan and Karazhal, in the Zhanarka district, and at the Kyzylzhar station — and reopened them for passengers.
The completion and commissioning of the Zhezkazgan–Kyzylorda and Zhezkazgan–Arkalyk highways are of great importance for the region. These routes will improve transport links, create more convenient conditions for freight and passenger traffic, and expand trade and economic ties. Construction of the Zhezkazgan–Karaganda highway is also continuing at an active pace. High-quality implementation of these projects will help strengthen the region's transport and logistics potential and enhance its investment appeal.
Special attention is being paid to developing medical infrastructure. In the village of Ulytau, construction is actively underway on a 20-bed rural hospital with a polyclinic designed for 100 visits per shift. The facility is scheduled to be commissioned by the end of the year.
The Zhyly Zhurek Foundation began construction of a polyclinic with a capacity of 250 visits per shift in July of this year.
As part of the modernization of the regional multidisciplinary hospital in Zhezkazgan, an oncology center and a perinatal center will be built. Construction and installation work will begin in the near future.
Under agreements reached with Samruk-Kazyna JSC, an inclusive rehabilitation center for children and a modern inclusive sports complex will be built in Zhezkazgan.
The region also plans to build new sports, cultural, and social infrastructure facilities. Qarmet JSC plans to build a kindergarten in the city of Karazhal. In addition, Kazakhmys Corporation plans in the first half of next year to begin construction in Zhezkazgan of an 800-seat congress center, a tennis center, and a new stadium.
The priorities outlined by the head of state set the direction for further work in the region. Implementation of these projects will create new opportunities for residents and strengthen the region's potential.
