A pedagogical university named after Y. Altynsarin in Arkalyk has been fully renovated using funds from the Special State Fund, which is financed by assets returned to the state. The upgraded institution now boasts modern educational infrastructure, and several major social projects are planned in the Kostanay region, also to be funded from these resources, reports infohub.kz.
"In Arkalyk, the social project to reconstruct the building of the Arkalyk Pedagogical University named after Y. Altynsarin has been completed. The total cost of the work amounted to 1.9 billion tenge," the regional prosecutor's office stated.
Following the renovation, the university now offers modern and comfortable learning conditions for about 2,500 students, as well as for the teaching staff. The upgrade is expected to help train highly qualified specialists and positively impact the socio-economic development of Arkalyk and the broader region.
The prosecutor's office noted that the university reconstruction is part of a larger program using returned assets to implement socially significant projects. In 2026 alone, the Kostanay region plans to build or reconstruct six social infrastructure facilities using funds from the Special State Fund: an airport, a hospital, a maternity hospital, and a dormitory in Arkalyk; a polyclinic in Zhitikara; and a medical outpatient clinic in the village of Pereleski, Denisovsky District.
The supervisory authority emphasized that all social projects financed by returned assets are under constant oversight by the Kostanay Regional Prosecutor's Office. The use of the Special State Fund is aimed at improving the quality of life for residents, developing regions, and ensuring that returned assets contribute to solving socially important tasks and bring practical benefits to the people of Kazakhstan.
