Strong winds and rain caused damage in the village of Konyrozek in the Uspensky district of Pavlodar region, reports Pavlodar-online. The storm damaged residential buildings and power lines, leaving part of the village without electricity.
According to local residents, before the bad weather they noticed a whirlwind resembling a small tornado. 'It looked like a tornado,' the villagers said.
Strong gusts tore roofs off houses, toppled trees, and snapped power and telephone lines. Some residents lost fences and gates, while lightweight structures were lifted into the air. One villager's frame pool was blown away.
During the storm, a woman bruised herself while trying to close her house door. According to local authorities, no one was seriously injured.
The administration of the Konyrozek rural district confirmed that the bad weather affected only part of the village. 'The wind passed in a strip, it didn't hit the entire village. Damage is being assessed now. We are all here — the emergency department, the district leadership. We are taking measures, and power supply will be restored as soon as possible,' said Aitolkyn Kairova, the akim of the rural district.
According to her, besides residential buildings, the local House of Culture was also damaged — about 30% of its roof was affected. Currently, specialists are assessing the damage and continuing restoration work.
