The US Central Command (CENTCOM) has announced the destruction of five Iranian oil tankers, posting a video on social media platform X, according to infohub.kz.
According to the US military, on September 8, CENTCOM forces eliminated five Iranian vessels carrying crude oil. This came after Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) twice attacked an American warship with ballistic missiles over the past two days.
The command emphasized that the US ship successfully evaded the Iranian attacks, and no personnel were injured.
Earlier, Iran launched a massive missile strike on US bases in Jordan. Additionally, the IRGC reported seizing an American underwater drone in the Strait of Hormuz.
