The United States is investigating a possible link between COVID-19 vaccination and the deaths of military personnel, according to infohub.kz.
According to Politico, citing court testimony by military doctor Theresa Long, she is working with Health Secretary Robert Kennedy Jr. and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth to determine the circumstances of military deaths. The investigation began after President Joe Biden mandated vaccination for all service members in 2021.
Long is examining more than 2,500 unconfirmed cases of death after vaccination reported to the federal Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System. She said she is aware of 28 fatalities that may have been caused by the shots.
The outlet notes that Kennedy, a vocal vaccine opponent who has called COVID-19 vaccines "the deadliest," recently rescinded the government's recommendation for annual vaccination for most Americans. However, many vaccine experts disagree with the secretary's views.
