The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced a new series of attacks aimed at weakening Iran's military capabilities, reports infohub.kz.

On Wednesday, July 15, CENTCOM posted on X that a new wave of strikes had begun at 6:00 a.m. Eastern Time (3:00 p.m. Astana time). "The goal of the strikes is to further degrade the military capabilities that Iranian forces have used to attack merchant vessels in the Strait of Hormuz," the statement said.

Earlier, CENTCOM announced the completion of a 90-minute strike operation. U.S. forces used precision-guided munitions against coastal defense systems and cruise missile storage and launch sites on Greater Tunb Island. Iran has not yet reported any damage.

The exchange of strikes between the U.S. and Iran began a week ago, ahead of the NATO summit in Ankara. Later, the White House chief said the ceasefire was over but Washington was ready for negotiations. Recently, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi also declared the termination of the peace treaty with the U.S.
