The team of US President Donald Trump is discussing the possibility of resuming military strikes on Iran. One scenario under consideration is carrying out strikes on November 9, during the new moon, infohub.kz reports.
According to Fox News, Donald Trump met with his national security team to discuss the possibility of resuming military operations against Iran. Senior officials confirmed the information to the channel. According to them, the relevant meetings were held at the White House on Wednesday and Thursday.
“On November 9, a new moon sets in over the Middle East — a period when there is virtually no moonlight, which creates favorable conditions for military operations,” the channel quoted its sources as saying.
Trump earlier told journalists that the White House is deciding whether to resume combat operations. “Should we go further — carry out strikes to finally eliminate Iran’s nuclear program and guarantee that this never happens again? If possible, I would prefer not to destroy the rest of the country, but we may have to. You’ll find out soon,” Trump said, posing the question and answering it himself.
According to a number of sources citing a US official, US Central Command is completing preparations for a possible resumption of large-scale operations in Iran, but has not yet received new instructions from Washington.
In addition, during a phone call on Thursday, Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi told Trump that Iraqi territory should not be used to carry out strikes on neighboring states.
