The US Open is the final Grand Slam of the season, played on hard courts in New York. Sabalenka and Rybakina will meet in the women's singles final.
The title match will be played on the US Open's biggest stage, Arthur Ashe Stadium. Play will not begin before 01:00 on September 13, Kazakhstan time. The men's doubles final will be held on the same court beforehand.
Broadcast rights to the US Open belong to the international channel Eurosport, which is also available in Kazakhstan.
Sabalenka leads their head-to-head record 10-7. This season she lost to Rybakina in the Australian Open final, but has since won both of their meetings.
The Belarusian is the winner of the past two US Open titles. Among Grand Slams, she has also won two Australian Opens (2023 and 2024). In total, Sabalenka has 24 WTA singles titles.
Rybakina is a two-time Grand Slam champion. She won Wimbledon in 2022 and claimed the Australian Open title this season. The Kazakhstani player has won 13 WTA titles over her career.
Sabalenka will formally finish the US Open as world No. 1, but regardless of the final's outcome, it is Rybakina who will replace the Belarusian at the top. The WTA rankings will be officially updated on September 14, once the tournament ends.
