Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said he believes the situation is moving toward the end of the conflict in Ukraine. He made the remark when asked about prospects for a settlement, according to infohub.kz.
According to NUR.KZ, Vladimir Putin is ready to resume talks on Ukraine in the Russia–US–Ukraine format after November 10. Ushakov, an aide to the Russian president, said this while commenting on the Kremlin chief's meeting with US presidential envoy Steven Witkoff in St. Petersburg, Bild reports.
According to Ushakov, the Russian leader also reviewed "new approaches by the EU and Ukraine" but concluded that "there was little of use in them in the context of a Ukrainian settlement."
Ushakov noted that Putin showed Witkoff a map of the front line, where Russian forces hold the initiative, and discussed potential Russian-American economic projects with him.
According to Interfax, the Kremlin believes the Ukrainian conflict is nearing its end.
"I don't know how close we are, but it is moving toward that," said Yuri Ushakov, aide to the Russian president.
He was responding to a question about the prospects for ending the Ukrainian conflict.
