At the Oktagon 92 tournament in Prague, Uzbek mixed martial arts fighter Makhmud Muradov secured an impressive victory in a title bout, reports infohub.kz.
The athlete competed in the co-main event, making his debut in the light heavyweight division (up to 93 kg). His opponent was Ireland's Will Fleury.
The fight, scheduled for five rounds, ended early: at the beginning of the second round, Muradov managed to knock out his opponent. Thus, the 36-year-old Uzbek took the championship belt from Fleury and became the new Oktagon light heavyweight champion.
Notably, in his previous fight, Muradov won the interim middleweight title. Since leaving the UFC, he has won all four of his bouts. In total, his professional career includes 30 wins, 8 losses, and one no-contest.
For Will Fleury, this defeat ended a six-fight winning streak. The 37-year-old Irishman retains the Oktagon heavyweight title. His record stands at 17 wins, 4 losses, and one no-contest.
