A devastating earthquake in Venezuela has killed 5,119 people and injured 16,740, according to Bloomberg.
Local authorities said the number of wounded has remained unchanged since July 5 at 16,740. A total of 6,462 people have been rescued from the rubble.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that two powerful earthquakes struck Venezuela on June 24, with magnitudes of 7.2 and 7.5. The quakes completely destroyed 190 buildings and significantly damaged 856 others. More than 21,000 people remain in temporary shelters.
The earthquake is the strongest to hit Venezuela since 1900.
