A 19-year-old resident of Almaty has been arrested for five days for reckless driving captured on video and posted on social media, according to the website infohub.kz.

Officers from the Almaty Police Department, while monitoring the internet, identified a video showing a Mercedes driver demonstratively violating traffic rules. They identified the violator as a 19-year-old city resident.

As police noted, "it turned out that the young man does not have a driver's license. For this violation, he was held administratively liable. Additionally, for his demonstrative behavior and violating public order, the driver was taken to the police, and by a decision of the specialized inter-district administrative court of Almaty, he was charged with petty hooliganism. The court sentenced him to five days of administrative arrest."

The Almaty Police Department reminds that any illegal content posted on social media becomes subject to review, and its authors inevitably face legal consequences.
