According to the press service of the Akmola Regional Police Department, in the Bulandinsky district, police solved a series of serious thefts. A diesel generator unit, which ensured uninterrupted operation of water supply network equipment and wells, was stolen from a water infrastructure facility.
As investigators established, in 2025, a diesel generator unit was installed on the outskirts of one of the villages in the Altyndinsky rural district. The equipment was part of a water supply infrastructure facility and was intended to guarantee the supply of drinking water to the population.
During the investigation, it turned out that two workers who performed work on the territory of the water supply networks knew about the presence of the unit and the specifics of the facility's security.
In April 2026, the suspects entered into a preliminary conspiracy and decided to steal the expensive equipment. Using a vehicle, a winch, and other tools, they entered the facility, dismantled, and removed the diesel generator unit worth about 7 million tenge. As a result of the theft, the operation of equipment ensuring the functioning of the water supply infrastructure of the settlement was disrupted.
However, the criminals did not stop. In May 2026, the organizer of the group suggested that his accomplice commit another theft from the territory of the same LLP. On May 6, they stole components for the diesel unit worth more than 400 thousand tenge. The stolen property was disposed of at their discretion.
Police officers conducted a set of operational-search and investigative measures. As a result, the identities of the suspects were established, and the stolen equipment was found and seized.
Currently, the investigation continues, aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the crimes committed, the amount of damage caused, and the role of each participant.
