In August 2026, individual deposits in Kazakhstani banks rose by 132.8 billion tenge, or 0.4%, to 30.66 trillion tenge. ForteBank saw the largest inflow of retail funds, while Halyk Bank experienced the biggest outflow, according to infohub.kz.

ForteBank led in absolute growth of individual deposits in August. Over the month, its volume increased by 62.4 billion tenge, or 4.1%, from 1.52 trillion to 1.58 trillion tenge.

Bank RBK came second. Retail deposits at the bank grew by 55.2 billion tenge, or 6.4%, reaching 919.7 billion tenge, up from 864.6 billion tenge a month earlier.

Kaspi Bank ranked third by inflow volume. In August, individual funds increased by 31.3 billion tenge, or 0.4%, to 7.83 trillion tenge.

Freedom Bank and Otbasy Bank showed almost identical growth. At Freedom, individual deposits rose by 24.8 billion tenge, or 2.4%, to 1.08 trillion tenge. Otbasy Bank attracted an additional 24.7 billion tenge, bringing retail funds to 3.45 trillion tenge.

Home Credit Bank and Bank CenterCredit also recorded notable inflows. At the former, individual deposits grew by 22.6 billion tenge, or 3.6%, to 655.3 billion tenge. At BCC, the figure increased by 21.7 billion tenge, or 0.6%, to 3.76 trillion tenge.

The largest absolute outflow was recorded by the country's biggest bank. Individual deposits at Halyk Bank fell by 64.1 billion tenge, or 0.8%, from 8.13 trillion to 8.07 trillion tenge in August. Despite the decline, Halyk retained the largest volume of retail funds among Kazakhstani banks.

The second-largest outflow occurred at Nurbank. In one month, individual deposits decreased by 29 billion tenge—from 202 billion to 173 billion tenge. In relative terms, the decline was 14.3%.

At Alatau City Bank, retail deposits shrank by 7.8 billion tenge, or 1.1%, to 719.3 billion tenge. Bereke Bank lost 7.6 billion tenge in individual deposits, with volume falling to 855.2 billion tenge.

At Eurasian Bank, the outflow was 3 billion tenge, or 0.3%, bringing individual deposits to 1.11 trillion tenge.

Thus, despite outflows from several large banks, the total volume of individual deposits in the banking system continued to grow. As of September 1, 2026, Kazakhstanis held 30.66 trillion tenge in banks, up from 30.52 trillion tenge a month earlier.
