All dogs abandoned in the steppe near Almaty after the murder of Dog House shelter owner Vladimir Teplyakov have been moved to a safe location. The animals are now at a temporary site, receiving care and food, according to infohub.kz.

According to the owners of the Dvoryanskoye Sobraniye shelter, relocating the dogs required significant physical, emotional, and financial effort.

"In recent days, many of us barely slept—loading dogs and kennels, finding transport, people, and places to house them. But we managed," the shelter said.

Volunteers promised that together with animal welfare advocates they will monitor the situation: visiting, checking living conditions, and ensuring the animals have everything they need.

The shelter added that transporting the dogs is only the first step. Ahead lie counting the animals, vaccination, sterilization, setting up the site, feeding, and finding homes.

"Huge thanks to everyone who helped: came, loaded, transported, fed, found vehicles and sites, took dogs home, and provided financial and informational support," the stray animal care center said.

Recall that about 90 stray dogs were left abandoned in the steppe near Almaty due to the death of the founder of the Tvardovsky Dom shelter. Volunteer Arsen Kabdenov reported that a few days earlier he had taken food to the Dog House shelter and met its owner, Vladimir, there. He told Kabdenov that the kennel was founded in 2015 and named after his late son. Over the years, they had to relocate many times and face numerous problems. Later, the volunteer was informed of the founder's death. Currently, the dogs are in the steppe, without proper fencing or necessary conditions.

Later, information emerged that the founder of the Dog House animal shelter, Vladimir Teplyakov, had been killed. The rumors were confirmed by police, and a criminal case was opened. Social media also reported that the man had sustained several gunshot wounds. However, police did not confirm this information. The investigation is under the special control of the leadership of the Almaty Region Police Department.

Earlier, Kursiv wrote that the akimat of the Zhambyl District of Almaty Region intervened in the situation surrounding the 90 dogs at the Dog House shelter. The authorities asked Kazakhstanis to help find homes for the animals.
