A historic water tower on the royal Sandringham estate can now be rented for stays. This is the private residence of King Charles III, where his family traditionally spends Christmas. The unusual accommodation offers a unique experience of immersing oneself in British history, reports infohub.kz.
The tower was built in 1877 to a design by engineer James Mansergh. For nearly a hundred years, it supplied fresh water to the royal residence, and recently the building was restored and turned into cozy accommodation for two guests.
The cost of a stay starts at about £151 per night, equivalent to roughly 94,300 tenge. With longer rentals, the price per night decreases, making the offer attractive to tourists.
Inside, the tower has a rather cozy space with British interior design. Guests can enjoy a living room with a fireplace and chandelier, historical paintings, and a bedroom with its own fireplace. From the top floor, a vintage staircase leads to the roof, offering picturesque views of Norfolk.
The building itself retains its unusual neo-Byzantine architecture, round shape, and brickwork. Now, instead of just standing in the middle of the royal estate, the tower can welcome tourists, offering them a unique chance to live in a historic place.
The water tower is not the only accommodation available for rent on the Sandringham estate. There is also Gardens House, which sleeps eight, and a small building called Folly, which accommodates six guests.
Sandringham is located about 160 kilometers north of London. King Charles III inherited the estate after the death of Queen Elizabeth II. It was purchased by Queen Victoria in 1862 for her son, the future King Edward VII.
Earlier, Kursiv LifeStyle reported that a British radio station mistakenly announced the death of King Charles III once again.
