After a prolonged heatwave, unstable weather is expected across most of Kazakhstan on Tuesday, July 21, reports Orda.kz.

Most regions will see rain with thunderstorms, locally heavy downpours, hail and gusty winds. In the north and northeast, temperatures will reach 20–30°C; in the center and east, 22–35°C; and in the south and southeast, 27–35°C.

The exception is the west of the country, where thermometers will climb to 30–42°C.

Storm warnings have been issued for 17 regions.

In Astana, partly cloudy, rain, thunderstorms, with overnight lows of 13–15°C and daytime highs of 23–25°C. In Almaty, partly cloudy, rain, thunderstorms, lows 25–27°C, highs 34–36°C. In Shymkent, cloudy, rain, thunderstorms, lows 23–25°C, highs 33–35°C.
