In the Kyzylorda region, police identified participants of a wedding motorcade who grossly violated traffic rules. Fifteen people were held accountable, reports infohub.kz.
According to the Telegram channel "News of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan," the motorcade participants drove into oncoming traffic, created emergency situations, and used pyrotechnics on the road. The incident occurred on the night of August 23 in the Zhanakorgan district. One of the cars had the inscription "Groom's Crew."
"All participants were identified and brought to the police. They turned out to be 15 people aged 21 to 35 — residents of the Zhanakorgan district, Almaty and Zhambyl regions, as well as Shymkent. Among those held accountable are 13 drivers and two passengers," the ministry said.
Fifty-six administrative proceedings were initiated against the violators. They were held accountable for driving into oncoming traffic, creating an emergency situation, dangerous maneuvering, driving without a driver's license and with technical faults, petty hooliganism, and illegal use of pyrotechnics in a populated area.
By court decision, three drivers were deprived of the right to drive vehicles. One participant was arrested for five days. Administrative penalties were imposed on the rest. Five cars were impounded. All participants received official warnings about the inadmissibility of such actions.
"A festive event does not give anyone the right to endanger other road users. Wedding motorcades have no privileges on the road. For gross and demonstrative violation of the law, each offender will bear the prescribed responsibility," the Ministry of Internal Affairs stated.
