At a government briefing, the head of the Ministry of Trade and Integration was asked to give recommendations to Kazakhstani citizens regarding purchases on the Wildberries marketplace, reports infohub.kz.
Minister Arman Shakkaliev stated: "The key recommendation for all entrepreneurs is to assess risks, taking into account the current situation. And here it is necessary to understand that when choosing a particular platform or marketplace, one should weigh price-quality and delivery speed. At the same time, I always say that we should use our domestic marketplaces. (...) Buyers, of course, look at the cost of the product. But it is very important here - a price that is significantly lower than the market always raises questions. You need to find out what it is connected with and what the consequences will be. (...) Therefore, my advice is simple: choose marketplaces that you trust. And, of course, analyze the situation. We are all literate consumers, informed, so here you need to choose the platform that will provide you with a guaranteed product. And you, as a consumer, are more protected in accordance with the legislation on consumer protection."
As the head of the Ministry of Trade noted, Wildberries has not officially approached Kazakhstan with a request to place warehouses. "As for the official request, there is none. It has not been received by us yet. When it arrives, we will consider it. As for the current situation, as far as is known, about 46 thousand square meters of rented space (in Kazakhstan - ed.). And in Almaty, the company is carrying out construction work on 160 thousand square meters, in Astana - about 100 thousand square meters. But these plans were announced in advance. These are plans for the development of the local branch of Wildberries," the minister added.
Recall that on the night of July 18, Ukrainian drones attacked two large logistics centers of the Russian marketplace Wildberries - in the Tambov region and in the Moscow region. After that, the company's facilities in the Krasnodar and Stavropol territories, St. Petersburg, the Leningrad region, and in the territory of Crimea were also subjected to attacks. Following these incidents, Kazakhstan's Ministry of Trade commented on rumors about the relocation of the Russian marketplace's warehouse complexes to the country's territory.
