Wildberries has warned citizens of Kazakhstan about a new phone scam. Fraudsters are calling users, posing as marketplace employees, and claiming they are ready to deliver an order. To supposedly confirm the order, they ask the victim to read out a code from an SMS message, according to infohub.kz.
The company stresses that genuine Wildberries employees never call customers asking them to share SMS codes, passwords, or other confidential information. Wildberries, for its part, ensures reliable data protection and continuously improves the security systems of its IT infrastructure.
However, data security can be compromised if a customer hands over access to scammers themselves. The main goal of such calls is to fraudulently gain unauthorized access to users' accounts on various platforms.
Users are urged to be extremely vigilant, ignore such requests, and under no circumstances share incoming secret codes with third parties.
All information about order status, current promotions, and other notifications should be checked only through official sources — personal accounts on the marketplaces' websites or their official apps.
