Kazakhstan's Ministry of Trade said that Wildberries has not submitted an official request to place additional warehouse capacity in the republic. However, if such a proposal is made, it will be considered in light of the country's national interests and legislation, reports infohub.kz.
Earlier, media reported that Wildberries was seeking warehouse space in Kazakhstan after drone attacks on its logistics centers in Russia. The Ministry emphasized that no official applications from the marketplace have been received to date.
"It is fundamentally important for the Ministry that any projects by international companies be implemented on a mutually beneficial basis, taking into account the country's national interests, create additional opportunities for domestic entrepreneurs, and be accompanied by investments in Kazakhstan's economy," the ministry noted.
The ministry also reminded that Kazakhstan has significant transit and logistics potential and supports investment projects for the development of modern warehouse infrastructure, job creation, and cross-border e-commerce. At the same time, all processes are regulated by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan and EAEU norms; no special conditions for individual market participants are provided.
Since July 18, Wildberries' warehouses in Russia have been subjected to large-scale drone attacks. Logistics parks in St. Petersburg, the Moscow region, Crimea, the Tambov and Voronezh regions, and the Stavropol and Krasnodar territories have been affected. After that, the marketplace began searching for available warehouse space totaling 100,000 square meters in Kazakhstan. However, finding a suitable facility will be difficult: according to NF Group, as of the end of 2025, the country had 1.9 million square meters of quality warehouses, of which only 5.8% were vacant.
