A story involving a search and sealed equipment unfolded in Almaty around a logistics center under construction for Wildberries, but it ended with the criminal case being closed, according to infohub.kz.
As reported by NUR.KZ, the major company Wildberries became entangled in a criminal case. The situation was examined by the Committee for the Protection of Investors' Rights together with the Almaty prosecutor's office.
The Committee for the Protection of Investors' Rights said it received information about investigative actions at the site of the Wildberries logistics center under construction in Almaty: a search was conducted and equipment was sealed.
On the committee's instructions, the Almaty city prosecutor's office carried out a comprehensive review of the legality of the criminal case's registration and the procedural decisions taken.
"It was established that the dispute arose between a contractor and a subcontractor during construction work and was exclusively civil-law in nature. There were no grounds for criminal prosecution," the committee clarified.
It is reported that at the pre-trial stage, the investor's rights were protected and further negative impact on the project's implementation was prevented.
"On September 2, 2026, the criminal case was closed due to the absence of a criminal offense. At the same time, the issue of holding the responsible officials disciplinarily accountable was initiated," noted Rauan Almishev, the committee's prosecutor.
The committee emphasized that the use of criminal-procedural measures should not be used as a tool to pressure business or create obstacles to the implementation of investment projects.
