A woman who was banned from driving was detained in Almaty after she got behind the wheel of a Toyota Camry. The incident occurred in the Bostandyk district of the city, reports infohub.kz.

Patrol police stopped the foreign car at the intersection of Satpayev and Manas streets at three in the morning. The driver was a resident of the Almaty region. A document check revealed that a court had previously revoked her driver's license for driving under the influence. Despite this, she decided to drive again.

An administrative case was filed against the violator, and measures prescribed by law were taken. The car was impounded.

The police remind that license revocation is a direct safety measure. Attempting to drive again after a court decision entails new liability. If a court has banned you from driving, do not get behind the wheel—the cost of such a decision can be too high.
