A court has delivered a verdict in a brutal attack captured on surveillance cameras in Ekibastuz. The woman was found guilty of murdering a man and attempting to murder another woman, reports infohub.kz.
The court established that the defendant's guilt was confirmed by her own testimony, witness statements, forensic examinations, and other evidence examined during the trial.
When determining the sentence, the court considered her partial admission of guilt as a mitigating circumstance. Aggravating factors included committing the crime while intoxicated and a dangerous recidivism.
For the attempted murder, the court sentenced her to 10 years in prison; for the murder of a person in a helpless state, 16 years. By cumulative punishment, the final sentence was 17 years.
The convicted woman will serve her term in a maximum-security facility.
