The new flagship Xiaomi SkyNomad N90 crossover, designed for seven people and seven suitcases, has become the subject of a review on the YouTube channel Pandaway. The three-row vehicle stands out for its unusual cabin layout and high capacity, with the Li Auto L9 and Aito M9 named as its main competitors. According to auto bloggers, it will be hard to find an analog in terms of the combination of characteristics, reports the website infohub.kz.
The SkyNomad N90 is comparable in size to large minivans: length is 5.28 meters, width is 2 meters, and the wheelbase exceeds 3 meters. At the same time, the gross weight does not exceed 3.5 tons, so a category B license is sufficient to drive it.
The model is based on the Xiaomi Kun platform. Engineers made the rear electric drive more compact and moved the battery management unit to the back. Thanks to this, the floor is almost flat across the entire length of the cabin, with a thickness of 298 millimeters.
The interior length reaches 2.76 meters, and a child about 120 centimeters tall can walk almost at full height. The second row can be slid back nearly 90 centimeters, and the third row more than 70 centimeters, allowing for different cabin configurations.
It is the spaciousness that has become the main surprise of the new SkyNomad N90. Even with the third row up, the trunk can accommodate seven 20-inch suitcases, and seven people can be inside at the same time. The reviewers believe that in this regard, the N90 surpasses many minivans, including the Toyota Alphard and Nissan Elgrand.
The cabin is literally packed with electronics. The crossover features an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, a 20-inch head-up display, a 16.1-inch central screen, a screen for the second row, a 21.45-inch ceiling monitor with 3K resolution, and a digital rearview mirror.
But the most unusual feature, according to the authors, is the complete abandonment of traditional fuses. Instead, an electronic eFuse system is used, which checks the electrical network about 100 times per second and disconnects a damaged circuit in less than 100 microseconds — about a hundred times faster than conventional fuses.
The built-in refrigerator can operate for up to a day after the car is turned off, consuming about 1 kWh.
The top version is preliminarily estimated at 300,000 yuan (about 22 million tenge). At the same time, auto bloggers suggest that by the start of sales, the price could drop by another 10,000–15,000 yuan.
It is too early to draw final conclusions, but the reviewers believe that in its price segment, it will be hard to find a direct analog for the N90. In their opinion, the model offers more spacious second and third rows than Li Auto and Aito, with equipment comparable to premium cars.
