The servers storing personal data of Kazakh users of Yandex are operating normally despite disruptions in the company's services, the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan said, according to infohub.kz.

The ministry noted that the outages in Yandex's services have raised legitimate concerns about the reliability of digital platforms that Kazakh citizens use daily.

"The servers designated for storing personal data of users from Kazakhstan are located in the country and are operating normally. At the same time, this does not mean that the entire platform functions autonomously; certain components necessary for providing taxi and delivery services are located outside Kazakhstan. Ensuring uninterrupted operation of services is of paramount importance for users. In this regard, hosting data within Kazakhstan and ensuring the sustainable functioning of digital platforms are separate tasks that require a comprehensive solution," the ministry said.

The Ministry of Artificial Intelligence also confirmed that Yandex is currently carrying out recovery work.

"The ministry is working with the company and Kazakh infrastructure organizations to provide the necessary support. At the same time, work is underway with other taxi and delivery platforms to ensure their resilience amid increased load," the ministry's statement said.

Earlier, Kursiv reported that Yandex's taxi and delivery services had stopped working in Kazakhstan.

Kazakh citizens are reporting that Yandex's services have stopped working for them. Many have encountered difficulties when ordering taxis and say they cannot get to planned events. Kursiv correspondents also checked the services' functionality and confirmed that it is currently impossible to order a taxi or food delivery.

Yandex Go's press service confirmed that the services are operating with errors or may be temporarily unavailable.
