Kazakhstani track and field athlete Yasmina Toksanbayeva won the women's race walking marathon at the 2026 Asian Games, finishing in 3:22.20. It is Kazakhstan's ninth gold medal at the ongoing Games, according to infohub.kz.
The 21-year-old athlete finished nearly four minutes ahead of the silver medalist and ten minutes ahead of the bronze medalist.
Until now, Kazakhstan had won only two bronze medals in women's race walking at the Asian Games, both claimed by Svetlana Tolstaya in Bangkok in 1998 and Busan in 2002. Toksanbayeva's gold is the first in the country's history in this event.

The 20th Summer Asian Games officially opened on September 19 and will close on October 4. Athletes from 45 countries are competing for 460 sets of medals. Kazakhstan's team at the 2026 Asian Games includes 558 athletes in 35 sports.
On the first day of the Games, Kazakhstan won four gold medals. Cyclists Rinata Sultanova and Alexey Lutsenko, along with karate athletes Zholaman Bigabyl and Sofya Berultseva, became champions. MMA fighter Yerkingali Burkutalin added the team's fifth gold, followed by his mixed martial arts teammate Kadyrbek Shynbayev with the sixth. On September 23, Lutsenko became a two-time champion of the 2026 Asian Games. The eighth gold medal was won on September 24 by rowers Vladislav Yakovlev and Ivan Chernukhin in the men's coxless pairs.
After seven days of competition, Kazakhstan was in fifth place in the unofficial medal standings.
