Vice President of Kazakhstan Yerlan Karin met with the team behind an international film project that includes legendary actor Jackie Chan, the website infohub.kz reports.

According to the Akorda website, Karin met the crew of the international film project on the instructions of President of Kazakhstan Qasym-Jomart Toqaev. The vice president spoke with world-renowned director and actor Jackie Chan, as well as with foreign and Kazakhstani producers Esmond Ren, Rustem Omarov, Igor Tsay and Orynbasar Kudaibergenov.

"The meeting discussed international cooperation in the field of cinematography, as well as the possibilities for further implementation of joint film projects," the statement said.

Karin noted that Qasym-Jomart Toqaev pays special attention to the development of new technologies, creative industries and the creation of conditions for realizing the creative potential of citizens.

The vice president stressed that the implementation of such large-scale projects in Kazakhstan contributes to the development of the domestic film industry, its professional growth and the promotion of the country as a promising location for international film production.

Particular attention was paid to the use of new technologies in cinema. Karin said that as part of the Year of Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence, initiated by the head of state, the Astana AI Film Festival was held in the capital.

"More than 8,000 applications from 125 countries around the world were submitted to compete in the festival of films created with the help of artificial intelligence. In terms of scale and geographic reach, the festival became the largest event in the world dedicated to AI cinema," the Akorda said.

At the end of the meeting, Karin thanked Jackie Chan for his especially warm attitude toward Kazakhstan and wished all participants in the project further creative success.

Recall that in late September 2025, Jackie Chan visited Almaty, where the famous actor's visit stirred up Kazakhstanis. It later became known that the fourth installment of the film "Armour of God" with Jackie Chan would be shot in Kazakhstan. The actor also chose a director for the new installment.

In June, filming of the international film project "Armour of God 4: Ultimatum" featuring the legendary Jackie Chan began in the Mangystau Region. In July, it was reported that filming had started in Almaty.
