State Counselor Yerlan Karin has commented on a video showing a man delivering an inappropriate sermon instead of a toast. He emphasized that such remarks, which infringe on women's rights and criticize Kazakh music, are alien to the national culture and worldview, reports infohub.kz.
Karin noted that in the video, which has spread online, the man begins to read a sermon containing offensive remarks about women and negative assessments of singers and musical art. According to him, this is absolutely inconsistent with the national spirit and the principles of a secular state.
"In fact, his derogatory remarks about women and negative assessments of singers and musical art are absolutely alien to our nature and do not correspond to the national worldview. After all, Kazakhstan is a secular state. Our main guideline is the Constitution. The country's laws come first, not religious restrictions," the State Counselor emphasized.
Karin also called the opposition of art and culture to religion an overreach. He noted that Kazakhstan, on the contrary, places emphasis on education, science, art, and culture.
"Such division of people in public and deliberate imposition of one's own opinion contradict elementary ethics. We prioritize mutual respect and culture. That is why the state attaches particular importance to the formation of a new public ethics," added Yerlan Karin.
The State Counselor called for a barrier to be placed against such manifestations that contradict national identity and state principles.
