The heating season has already begun in 11 regions of Kazakhstan, with the remaining regions to be connected within October. This was reported at the weekly government meeting by Vice Minister of Energy Kairkhan Tutkyshbayev, according to infohub.kz.
As the vice minister explained, the start of the heating season directly depends on weather conditions. At the same time, all heat sources in the country have sufficient equipment and fuel reserves to get through the autumn-winter period.
"In general, repair work across the country is proceeding according to approved schedules and is under constant control. The heating season has started as planned. In the southern and western regions, heat will be connected according to schedule and weather," added Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov.
However, due to untimely equipment delivery, the completion of repairs at central heating points in Semey was postponed, and heat was connected to homes only on October 5.
"I previously instructed that heat sources and networks be ready by October 1. All regions met the exact deadline except one. Only in Semey (it was revealed – editor's note) was there untimely preparation of heating networks," Bektenov noted.
The prime minister instructed akimats of all regions to resume the work of regional headquarters for the heating season and to regularly inspect the operation of energy sources and networks.
In addition, he reminded of the need to comply with all planned parameters, maintain normative fuel reserves, ensure the readiness of backup equipment, and keep under constant control the issue of coal availability for the population at stable prices.
Recall that in Astana, the 2026–2027 heating season officially started on October 2. The corresponding decree was signed by the city akim. Before the start of the heating season, specialists of Astana-Teplotransit JSC conducted hydraulic tests of heating networks. The identified defects were eliminated, and repairs and modernization of networks were completed.
Earlier, Kursiv wrote that the heating season had already started in Pavlodar, Akmola, Kostanay, and North Kazakhstan regions, Karaganda, Aktobe, Atyrau regions, and Abai region, as well as in the city of Ridder.
