Kyrgyz comedian and blogger Azat Marat, known by the pseudonym Zee, has presented his debut solo stand-up concert titled "Oh My God." The video was published on YouTube on August 18 and has already garnered around 86,700 views, according to infohub.kz.
In this performance, Zee openly shares memories of his childhood in Kyrgyzstan, talks about his search for self, religious experiences, and attempts to understand his own identity. He delivers serious and personal topics with self-irony and humor.
One of the first stories is about his childhood in Tokmok. Zee recalls life in a small town, which he describes as a rather criminal place and a kind of "school of life."
A large part of the concert is devoted to faith and religion. The comedian talks about his origins from the Kozha clan, attending a mosque as a child, and later studying at a private Christian school. He humorously reflects on how he tried to figure out his own beliefs, combining religious quest, personal traits, and curiosity about the world.
Another part of the stand-up is dedicated to a trip to the United States on a cultural exchange program. Zee recalls encountering an unfamiliar mentality, funny situations at prom, and the gradual realization that people from different countries and cultures are largely similar despite external differences.
In the finale, the comedian says that a person should not be defined by their origin, diagnoses, or stereotypes imposed by society. According to him, what matters more is the path one has taken and the decisions one makes.
