Chinese automaker Zeekr has commented on an incident involving a fire in its electric crossover 7X at a charging station in Ningbo, according to infohub.kz.
According to preliminary information from the company, the vehicle had previously been involved in a serious traffic accident. However, after the crash, it was not inspected or repaired at an official Zeekr service center. The exact cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
In the published footage, the Zeekr 7X can be seen near a charging station, but it was not plugged in. Before the fire, popping sounds were heard from the electric car, followed by sparks and flames from underneath. The fire was quickly extinguished, and no one was injured.
Zeekr emphasized that after a serious accident, it is necessary to check the battery, high-voltage system, and body of the vehicle. Improper repairs or lack of necessary diagnostics can pose a safety risk.
The company also recommended that buyers of used electric vehicles check the accident and repair history, as well as the condition of the traction battery and high-voltage system.
The Zeekr 7X is sold not only in China but also in foreign markets, including Kazakhstan. In 2025, the model received five stars from Euro NCAP.
Earlier, it was reported that after an incident with the Zeekr 9X in Kazakhstan, the company promised to change the vehicle's locking system.
