Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has revealed the condition under which Kyiv could stop attacking Russian oil refineries. He made the remarks in an interview, a clip of which Fox News correspondent Trey Yingst posted on X, according to infohub.kz.

According to the Ukrainian leader, the issue of strikes on oil refineries has repeatedly come up in his conversations with U.S. President Donald Trump.

Zelensky stressed that Kyiv is forced to respond to Moscow's actions. "We said that we simply cannot fail to respond to Russia attacking our energy infrastructure and killing our people. After the attacks on our refineries and everything else," Fox News quoted him as saying.

He formulated the condition for halting the strikes as follows: "If you want us not to attack Russian refineries, then Russia must not attack our energy system."

The Ukrainian president also offered another option — linking a halt to the strikes to supplies of air defense systems. "If you need us not to attack their refineries for one month, give us Patriots for one month," Zelensky said.

He also pointed to Washington's role in the conflict: "America cannot help Russia. The president (Donald Trump — ed.) cannot help Putin."
