Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in an interview that he would agree to freeze the war with Russia along the current front line, infohub.kz reports.
Fox News published on its X social media page an excerpt from Zelensky's interview with journalist Brian Kilmeade earlier today. "Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky told Brian Kilmeade he would agree to a peace deal that would freeze the war along the current front line, calling it a realistic way to end the fighting," the channel said, citing Zelensky's remarks.
According to him, in that case Ukraine would seek security guarantees from President Trump and European allies to ensure peace and security.
"We call it a ceasefire — or, as President Trump put it, a cessation of killings. A freeze and a stop. And certainly, as of today, that is the minimum we need from Russia," Zelensky said.
Recall that media reports earlier suggested the US president and his team would try to impose a peace deal on Ukraine on Russia's terms.
Marco Rubio, for his part, spoke to journalists days ago about US-Ukraine relations in the context of a peaceful settlement of the conflict between Kyiv and Moscow. According to him, Donald Trump is not just dissatisfied — he is irritated by Ukraine's position.
Zelensky also said during talks in Oslo that a possible trilateral meeting of the leaders of the US, Russia and Ukraine could take place.
