Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that the West must exert pressure on Vladimir Putin to end the war, reports infohub.kz.

Zelensky said that Kyiv has already submitted new proposals for the peace process to Washington. In his view, there is every chance of restoring it if the US is maximally involved in resolving this issue.

According to him, pressure on Vladimir Putin can indeed yield results, especially if it comes from the White House.

"We need more involvement from the American side in the peace plan. I am grateful to President Trump's team for wanting to continue. Putin does not want to stop this war now, and there is not enough pressure on him at the moment," Zelensky believes.

Furthermore, he once again rejected the scenario in which Ukraine could withdraw its troops from Donbas. The Ukrainian leader reminded that security guarantees remain key for Kyiv.

"The main question is why he (Putin - ed.) won't come again with one or two additional million soldiers after a long pause. Won't he come again to occupy us?" Zelensky added.
