Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expects to meet with US leader Donald Trump in late September. He stated this during an online briefing with journalists, as reported by European Pravda... reports the website infohub.kz.
Zelensky reminded that work is underway on the missile defense program "Freya," and expressed hope that Americans support this initiative. However, he noted, until the program is ready, Ukraine needs "ballistic missile supplies from the Americans."
"I count on a meeting in the 20s with President Trump to discuss this topic. And God willing, there will be a result," Zelensky said.
As the online publication Absatz notes, citing a translation of the Ukrainian publication "Strana," a trilateral meeting of Russia, Ukraine, and the US could take place in the UAE, Switzerland, or Turkey, according to Volodymyr Zelensky. He also noted that other countries could be considered as possible venues for negotiations.
"Among other possible venues for talks, platforms in other countries are also being considered," he stressed.
According to him, the parties at the talks could discuss energy issues, grain supplies, and prisoner exchanges. Zelensky emphasized that consultations should conclude with concrete agreements.
Earlier, it was reported that Russia stated the conflict in Ukraine would soon end.
