Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said he is ready to hold presidential elections in the country if Russia agrees to a full 60-day ceasefire. The Ukrainian leader made the statement on ABC's This Week program, according to infohub.kz.

According to Zelensky, if the U.S. president is truly interested in change, he should ask the Russian leadership to ensure a 60-day full ceasefire. It is during this period that Ukraine could organize elections.

"Please tell Putin: give us two months, 60 days of a full ceasefire. 60 days, and we will organize elections," he said, answering questions from Jonathan Karl and commenting on recent statements by the White House head.

Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump said that Ukraine should find a new leader capable of making deals. In addition, the White House head noted that the U.S. had urged Kyiv not to strike Russian oil refineries, but Zelensky, according to him, wants to "create problems for the world."

Meanwhile, The Wall Street Journal published an article stating that Trump and Zelensky's relationship has reached its lowest point in a year and a half.
