In the Zhambyl Region, prosecutors secured repayment of child support arrears for two minor children that had accumulated since 2023, and a pre-trial investigation was launched against the father, infohub.kz reports.
According to the supervisory authority's official website, the Zhambyl District Prosecutor's Office ensured the debt was repaid. It was established that a 30-year-old man, despite having the financial means, deliberately evaded paying child support for three years by concealing his income.
As a result, the debt owed to the two minor children amounted to 4.1 million tenge.
In September of this year, at the initiative of the district prosecutor's office, the police department launched a pre-trial investigation under Article 139 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Failure to Fulfill Obligations to Pay Funds for the Maintenance of Children).
During the pre-trial investigation, the debtor partially repaid the child support arrears. In addition, the parties concluded a mediation agreement under which the man undertook to pay child support in full and on time in the future.
On October 19, 2026, the pre-trial investigation was terminated due to reconciliation of the parties on non-rehabilitative grounds.
