A case over the return of title documents for an apartment between former spouses ended in reconciliation at the Talas District Court in Zhambyl Region, infohub.kz reports.

According to the official Telegram channel of the Zhambyl Region courts, the dispute concerned the original documents for a property purchased during the marriage.

The couple had been married since 2007 and have two children. In 2023 they bought an apartment in Karatau. After the divorce, a dispute arose over the original documents for the property.

The plaintiff said the apartment was registered in his name, but the purchase and sale agreement and the technical passport for the property were held by his ex-wife, who refused to return them. The man filed a lawsuit seeking to recover the documents from unlawful possession.

During the proceedings, the mediator judge held a discussion, as a result of which the parties reached a mutually beneficial solution and concluded a mediation agreement to settle the dispute.

Under the terms of the agreement, the defendant undertook to return the original apartment documents to the plaintiff. The plaintiff, in turn, dropped his claim for reimbursement of legal costs and undertook not to bring any further claims against the defendant in this dispute.

The agreement was approved by the court, the state fee was refunded to the plaintiff, and the proceedings were terminated. The ruling has entered into legal force.
