A resident of the Zhambyl Region who inflicted moderate bodily harm on his wife must reimburse the state for the funds spent on her treatment, the website infohub.kz reports.
According to NUR.KZ, citing the regional court, the court's press service specified that the man was ordered to return the money the state spent on medical care for the victim. A civil case was opened on a claim by the district prosecutor seeking recovery from the local resident — citizen A. — of material damage caused to the state.
According to the established circumstances, the man inflicted moderate bodily harm on his wife. The victim was taken to the district hospital, where she underwent treatment. A total of 330,000 tenge in state funds was spent on providing medical care.
"The criminal case against A. had previously been terminated due to reconciliation of the parties. However, the state's expenses for the victim's treatment remained unreimbursed. In order to protect the interests of the state, the prosecutor filed a lawsuit seeking recovery of the specified amount. After reviewing all the evidence presented and the case materials, the court concluded that the claims were justified," the court said.
The court upheld the claim in full: the defendant was ordered to pay 330,000 tenge to the state in compensation for material damage, as well as the state fee.
