In the Zhambyl Region, the parents of 42-year-old Serik Kobesov have blocked access to his grave to prevent an exhumation. The widow of the deceased has sought a second examination of the body, KTK television channel reports, according to infohub.kz.

Serik Kobesov died last October during a hunt in the Baizak District, where he had gone with two relatives. Police investigated the incident under the article "Causing death by negligence." A few months later, the case was closed, and the shooter — the husband of the deceased's sister — was released under an amnesty. Serik's parents did not object to that decision at the time.

According to the deceased's father, the shot occurred accidentally when a car door struck the butt of the gun.

"The car was parked on a slope, and when he got out, the door slammed and hit the butt, and at that moment there was an explosion — oh, a shot went off. As a result, the spleen and lungs were damaged. Blood entered the lung, and he suffocated. Well, he died instantly. We are very much against an exhumation. So that he can at least lie in peace in the afterlife," said the deceased's father, Almurat Kobesov.

The exhumation was sought by Serik's wife. The deceased's parents link her actions to a property dispute. According to their version, after transferring part of the property, the widow demanded that another apartment be re-registered in her name.

"We gave her the car, we gave her two apartments in Almaty. The older son lives and studies there, the younger one has lived with me since he was three, goes to school here. She agreed. But three days later she started demanding an apartment in Taraz. She demanded it be re-registered in her name. She threatened that otherwise she would reopen the case — claiming it was premeditated murder," said the deceased's mother, Minash Smagambetova.

The widow, in turn, believes that the circumstances of her husband's death require additional investigation. According to her, before the tragedy the family had discussed dividing the business, and Serik wanted to receive his share.

Maria Kobesova also claims that during investigative actions at the site of her husband's death, the car in which she herself was present, along with the gun and other physical evidence, caught fire. The woman suspects that someone tried to get rid of her.

"If it had been an accident, this wouldn't be happening now. The examination of the corpse would have been conducted legally. You understand, not only was not a single examination conducted, there was an explosion during the situational examination. All the physical evidence was destroyed, the car was blown up, I barely survived. And all of this is greed — they had a business with the father," said the deceased's widow, Maria Kobesova.

The police department of the Zhambyl Region confirmed that the investigation has been resumed. The exhumation was ordered as part of additional investigative actions based on a statement from the victim's side.

"In the case of causing death by negligence, the investigation continues. Based on the statement from the victim's side, additional investigative actions are being carried out, including the exhumation of the body," said Gulsara Mukhtarkulova, head of the press service of the Zhambyl Region Police Department.

The exhumation has not yet been carried out. Serik Kobesov's parents have blocked the passages to the grave, where law enforcement officers arrived with equipment and shovels. They have also challenged the exhumation and are awaiting a repeat court decision.

According to KTK, cases involving the destruction of evidence and falsification of expertise are being investigated in parallel.
