A trip to a sauna has landed a man in Kazakhstan's Zhambyl Region a 15-day administrative arrest: he was on parole and required to be at home after 10 p.m., but was not there, the website infohub.kz reports.

According to the official Telegram channel of the Zhambyl Region courts, the Sarysu District Court heard an administrative offense case against a man who repeatedly violated the restrictions imposed by the court after his early release on parole (Part 2 of Article 480 of the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Administrative Offenses).

In July 2026, the man was released from prison on parole. He was placed under probation supervision and subject to certain restrictions, under which he was required to be at home no later than 10 p.m.

However, in September 2026, at 10:30 p.m., police officers checking on him found that the man was absent from his place of residence. Earlier, in August 2026, he had already been held liable for a similar offense.

His guilt was confirmed by a protocol, a report by police officers, court acts and other case materials. In court, the probationer admitted his guilt and explained that at the time in question he was in a neighbor's sauna and had not been watching the clock.

The sanction under Part 2 of Article 480 of the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Administrative Offenses provides for a fine of 20 monthly calculation indices or arrest for up to 15 days. The court found no mitigating or aggravating circumstances.

By court order, the man was found guilty under Part 2 of Article 480 of the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Administrative Offenses and sentenced to 15 days of administrative arrest. The order has entered into force.
