Zhanna Nemtsova, the daughter of Russian politician Boris Nemtsov, who was shot dead in 2015, has been added to Russia's foreign agent registry. The press service of Russia's Ministry of Justice announced this, according to infohub.kz.

According to the ministry, the foreign agent registry also includes lawyer Rustam Khuazhev, the information resource "Navalny Team," and the information resource "Reanimatsiya."

According to the Russian Ministry of Justice's wording, Nemtsova "disseminated false information about decisions made and policies pursued by Russian public authorities" and also opposed the war in Ukraine.

"She participated in the creation and dissemination of messages and materials of foreign agents to an unlimited circle of people. She is the founder of an organization included in the list of foreign and international organizations whose activities are recognized as undesirable on the territory of the Russian Federation. She interacts with foreign agents and lives outside the Russian Federation," the ministry's statement said.

According to the Boris Nemtsov Foundation for Freedom website, Zhanna Nemtsova is a co-founder of the foundation and co-director of the Boris Nemtsov Academic Center for the Study of Russia at the Faculty of Philosophy of Charles University. She has many years of experience implementing educational and socially significant projects.

From 2015 to 2020, Nemtsova covered world politics and hosted the Russian-language television program "Nemtsova. Interview" on the German public broadcaster Deutsche Welle. She previously worked as an economic observer at the private Russian business television company RBC, covering financial markets and interviewing leading politicians and economists.

She is also co-host of the narrative English-language podcast Another Russia on Crooked Media and author of the Russian-language bestseller "Daughter of Her Father," published in Russia in January 2022.
