Astana football club Zhenis played a 1-1 draw at home against Zhezkazgan's Ulytau in the 18th round of the Kazakhstan Premier League, reports the website infohub.kz.
The match took place at the Astana Arena stadium and ended in a 1-1 stalemate.
Ulytau opened the scoring through Kazakh striker Bakdaulet Zulfikarov, who found the net in the 65th minute of the second half.
In the 86th minute, the capital city side equalized. Defender Madi Khassein saved his team from defeat, assisted by Croatian forward Andrija Filipović.
After 18 rounds, Zhenis have 22 points and sit eighth in the Kazakhstan championship. Ulytau, with 27 points, are in fifth place in the KPL standings.
