Astana's football club Zhenis convincingly defeated Taldykorgan's Zhetysu in a home match of the 22nd round of the Kazakhstan championship, reports infohub.kz.

The match, held at the Astana Arena stadium, ended with a score of 4-1 in favor of the hosts. In the first half, Croatian striker Andrija Filipović scored a brace, converting two penalties in the 13th and 27th minutes. In the second half, the Astana side extended their lead: Brazilian forward Adílio scored in the 55th minute, and Ukrainian striker Vladyslav Naumets added a goal in the 71st. The visitors managed to pull one back only in the 76th minute when Serbian midfielder Marko Živanović scored a consolation goal.

This victory allowed Zhenis to reach 26 points and climb to eighth place in the Kazakhstan Premier League standings. Zhetysu, with 19 points, sit in 15th position.
