Pension payments have been restored in the Zhetisu region to a Kazakh citizen whose payments were halted because she left the country, even though she retained her citizenship of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The news was reported by infohub.kz.
According to NUR.KZ, citing the regional prosecutor's office, the supervisory authority restored pension payments to a resident of the Koksu district. The payments had been stopped because she left the country, although she remained a citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
"As part of this work, the regional prosecutor's office restored pension payments to a resident of the Koksu district that had been halted because she left the country, despite her retaining citizenship of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Following the measures taken, pension payments were resumed from July 1, 2023. For the period during which they were suspended, the citizen was credited with more than 2.3 million tenge, to be paid in full," the prosecutor's office said.
The supervisory authority recalled that under Regulatory Legal Act No. 79 of the Constitutional Council, when exercising the right to be assigned and receive the state basic pension payment and the old-age pension payment, the requirement of permanent residence on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan does not apply to a citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan if other conditions established by law have been met.
