A resident of the Zhetisu region has published a video appeal complaining about the condition of a regional highway. The footage shows numerous cracks and deep ruts, which has sparked outrage among the local population, reports infohub.kz.
The video was posted on the Telegram channel "Letters to the President." The author of the video notes that the road was once perfectly smooth, but now it is sagging and "squeezed out." The depth of the potholes reaches about 15 centimeters, and the damaged section stretches for approximately 1-2 kilometers.
According to the resident, the cause of the road surface destruction could be overloaded trucks that regularly travel along this route.
Madi Shakenov, communications adviser to the regional akim, explained to a NUR.KZ correspondent that the road in question is the Taldykorgan – Ushrobe – Byzhy – Mukry highway. He assured that under the warranty obligations of the contractor, the identified defects will be eliminated and the road surface will be restored.
"The relevant work will be completed by mid-October this year in accordance with established requirements and warranty terms," Shakenov emphasized.
He also added that the situation is under control, and upon completion of the work, the proper condition of the road surface will be ensured.
